The US Virgin Islands lie in the Caribbean Sea at 18° 04' N 64° 50' W. Only three of the 50 islands, islets, and cays that make up the US Virgin Islands are inhabited; St Thomas, St John and St Croix. Trade winds moderate the islands tropical climate.
