General - Puerto de L'Ametlla de Mar is an attractive fishing harbour with an area in the S developed for yachts. It lies on the Costa Dorada on the E coast of Spain.

Position - 40º 53' N 0º 48.1' E

Approach & Entrance;
From the south - Punta Figuera with a red and white beacon on it is recognizable. The harbour of Puerto de L'Estany Gras can be identified and the town of L'Ametlla can be seen from afar.
From the north - From Cabo de Salou the coast is low until Punta Llastres where the Sierra de Balaguer reaches the sea. Two nuclear power stations to the N of Cabo Terme are conspicuous. The town of L'Ametlla can be seen from afar.
To enter - Give the E breakwater 25m to avoid the foundations that extend underwater.

Local Area - The old part of the town of L'Ametlla is worth a visit.
