General - Puerto de Portbou is a modern marina lying on the Costa Brava on the NE coast of Spain. Approach and entry are easy and shelter in general is good but the strong winds of the NW Tramontera send strong gusts through the bay.

Approach & Entrance;
From the south - From the Bahia de la Selva the coast is rugged and broken with a series of deep calas. Cap Cerbere, lying 0.5 miles to the N of Puerto de Portbou, can be identified. At the head of the Cala de Portbou the following can be seen; The long railway customs shed, the lighthouse like spire of a church and a prominent fort like building.
From the north - Round Cap Bear with its lighthouse, signal and radio station and fort. Port de Cerbere has a multi arched railway embankment. Cap Cerbere lies just to the S. At the head of the Cala de Portbou the following can be seen; The long railway customs shed, the lighthouse like spire of a church and a prominent fort like building.
To enter - Approach the head of the cala on a W course. When the marina bears S turn and make for the head of the breakwater leaving it to port.
