Puerto de Sant Carles de la Rapita, Tarragona, Catalunya, Spain

General - Puerto de Sant Carles de la Rapita is a large commercial and fishing harbour with a section devoted to yachting. It lies on the Costa Dorada on the NE coast of Spain.

Position - 40º 34' N 0º 33' E

Charts - British Admiralty 1701, 1704 Spanish 3713, 485, 837 French 7048, 4720

Approach & Entrance;
From the south -The flat coast gives way to the high range of mountains of the Sierra Montsia. Follow the coast at 1 mile and pass through the red and green marker buoys leading to the cement works. The harbour breakwaters of Puerto de Sant Carles de la Rapita will be seen in the close approach.
From the north - Round the large delta of the Rio Ebro and keep outside of the 10m soundings. When S of Punta Corballera cross towards the mainland shore and follow a NE course at 1 mile off.
To enter - Round the head of the western breakwater leaving it 50m to port. Steer a NW course keeping the breakwater 50m to port

Berths - Secure to the visitors quay on the western mole and report to the Club Nautico.
