Aquitaine lies in the south-western part of France, along the Atlantic Ocean and the Pyrenees mountain range on the border with Spain.

Nord - Pas du Calais
Nord-Pas de Calais has a border with to the Belgium and Normandy to the south. The coast lies on the Pas de Calais or Dover Strait, one of the worlds busiest shipping lanes.

Major sailing centres include; Dunkerque, Calais and Boulogne-sur-Mer
Normandy
Normany is bordered by Nord - Pas du Calais to the NE and brittany to the S. The region is bordered along the northern coasts by the English Channel. There are granite cliffs in the west and limestone cliffs in the east. There are also long stretches of beach in the centre of the region.

Provence-Alps-Cote d'Azur
This is the Mediterranean coast of SE France, also known as the French Riviera or Cote d'Azur. It includes the sovereign state of Monaco. It has no officially recognised boundries but is generally considered to extend from the Italian border in the east to Saint Tropez, Hyères or even Cassis in the west.

Experience & Qualifications - Normally the proposed skipper of a bareboat charter is required to hold a sailing license. ICC or equivalent. In certain circumstances we may be able to consider experience rather than formal qualifications. In addition, usually, one member of the crew will need a VHF license. If you have any doubts as to whether you have the necessary qualifications please do not hesitate to contact us

Charter Season - Many of our yachts can be hired year round. While November to February see many sunny days with pleasant temperatures they also see a number of stormy days accompanied by heavy rain. July and August are the most popular months, they also tend to be the most expensive and many marinas and resorts will be very crowded. The months either side of the peak summer period offer good value for money, temperatures are that little bit more comfortable and the area is will have less of a "busy" feel.
