General - The Royal Cork Yacht Club, founded in 1720, is the world's oldest yacht club. It lies at Crosshaven in the spectacular Cork Harbour which is both easy to enter while providing excellent shelter. Position - 51º 48.2' N 8º 18.2' W Charts - See the following link for Cork Harbour Charts Approach & Entrance - Head for the Cork outer buoy (51º 38.6 N 8º 14' W). Then steer 354º to 0.5 mile E of Cork fairway buoy (51º 42.88 N 8º 14.76' W). Maintain this course until the Cork entrance buoy is reached (51º 47.17 N 8º 15.44' W). Then pass between Roche's Point and Weaver Point and then between the two forts. The Owenabue River opens up to port just beyond Fort Meagher. Follow the channel markers and then the deepest water is to be found by following the moorings.
