General - Marina de Sines is a modern marina opened in 1997. It can be entered in all weather conditions. Position - 37º 56' N 8º 51' W Tides; Reference port - Lisbon Mean time differences - HW: -40 minutes ± 10; LW: -15 minutes ±5 Heights in metres -
Charts, Pilots & Cruising Guides - See the following link for Portugal Charts Approach & Entrance; From the south - The coast between Cabo Sardao and Sines is rocky with cliffs. Porto Covo, 7 miles to the S of Sines has a rocky beach and conspicuous water tower. The entrance to Sines is wide and without hazards. From the north - The coast is low and sandy. Yachts should stand 0.5 mile off the coast. Sines lies 1.5 miles S of Cabo de Sines. In the closer approach a long breakwater will be seen. The light is almost 500m short of the head of the breakwater. Yachts should leave a further port hand buoy to port. Yachts should not attempt to pass this buoy to starboard under any circumstances. After rounding this buoy the marina entrance bears 040º To enter - Pass between the two breakwater heads. Berths - Secure to the hammerhead which is also the fuelling berth and report to the marina office. All the berths are alongside finger pontoons.
