Marina de Cala d'Or, Mallorca, Balearic Islands, Spain

General - The marina at Cala d'Or sits in one of three inlets served by a single entrance from the sea. They are now surrounded by tourist development but a little of their original charm remains. Marina Cala d'Or is easy to approach and enter and only in strong E winds does any swell enter.

Approach & Entrance - From the S in the closer approaches the low square fort and small lighthouse on Punta del Fortin are easily identified. From the N there are 5 small calas in the cliffs that extend from Porto Colom. In the closer approaches the low square fort and small lighthouse on Punta del Fortin are easily identified. To enter approach the entrance on a W course and enter in mid channel. Follow the port hand coast at 50m into Cala Llonga. Enter Cala d'Or marina through the port and starboard hand marker bouys.

Shopping - There are shops and a supermarket nearby Cala d'Or Marina and more in the town of Porto Petro 1 mile away. Chandlers. Engine repairs. Hull repairs in GRP and wood. Showers.

Eating Out - Numerous restaurants, cafes and bars in the area surrounding Cala d'Or Marina

Local Area - Sandy beaches in all three calas. A walk to the fort is of interest.
