Marina San Telmo, Mallorca, Balearic Islands, Spain

General - A large marina set amongst an extensive housing development. Entrance is easy and the protection is on the whole good although some swell is experienced with winds from the SW. The high land surrounding the marina can produce strong gusts. Strong currents run in the area associated with the prevailing wind.

Position - 39º 34.9' N 2º 20.8' E

Approach & Entrance - From the N and NE follow the coast in a SW direction. Isla Dragonera with its sheer cliffs to the NW will be easily recognised. Enter the freu 100m of the mainland coat on a S heading. Pass between Isla Mitjana and Isla de Mallorca and the walls of the marina will be seen ahead. Follow this wall to the S end. From the SE and S round Cabo de la Mola and you will see Isla Dragonera. Follow the coast as far as Punta Galinda and Isla Pantaleu will be seen ahead. Leave this island 100m to starboard and the walls of the marina together with the surrounding houses will be seen to the N. Approach on this course. Enter the marina by heading for the end of the marina breakwater and leave it 50m to port.

Marina Berths - Secure alongside the head of the Dique de Levante and ask at the control tower.

Local Area - The town of Andraitx is worth a visit. There are a couple of good beaches nearby and a swimming pool within the marina complex. Golf and tennis can be arranged via the marina.
