General - Puerto Olimpico was built for the 1992 Olympics. It lies within the city of Barcelona on the Costa Dorada on the E coast of Spain. Position - 41º 23' N 2º 12' E Charts - British Admiralty 1704, 1196, 1180 French 4827, 7046 Spanish 873, 489A, 4891 Approach & Entrance; From the south - The delta of Rio Llobregat and the breakwaters of Puerto de Barcelona are easily identified. Puerto Olimpico lies 4 miles to the N of the S end of the breakwater. From the north - The harbour at El Masnou is easily identified as is the mouth of the river Besos which has power and gas stations on either side of its entrance. Puerto Olimpico lies in font of the two skyscrapers. To enter - Approach the S end of the harbour and pass through the red and green marker poles. A turn to starboard will take you between the breakwater heads. Berths - Moor at the fuel berth and contact the port captain. Diesel & Petrol - On the fuel quay Security - Internet - Other Facilities & Services - Limited repairs but all repairs in the main harbour. 50 tonne travel hoist. 6 tonne crane. Hard standing.
