General - Port d'Aro is a marina set in a holiday complex. It lies on the Costa Brava on the NE coast of Spain. Approach and entry are easy but would be difficult and possibly dangerous in strong winds from the NE - SE. Winds from this direction also push swell into the harbour. Puerto de Sant Feliu de Guixols and Punta de Garbi are also easy to identify as is the wide Cala de Sant Pol. Port d'Aro lies 1 mile to the NE of this cala From the north - Puerto de Palamos is easy to identify as is the Bahia de Palamos which is lined with high rise apartment blocks. The long sandy Playa d'Aro is backed by high rise buildings and the harbour lies at the S end of the beach To enter - Approach the head of the breakwater on a SW course and leave it 20m to starboard Berths - Secure to the visitors berth and ask.
