Puerto de Salou, Tarragona, Catalunya, Spain

General - Puerto de Salou is a small artificial harbour with limited space for visiting yachts. It lies on the Costa Dorada on the E coast of Spain. The approach and entry are not difficult except in strong winds and swell from the SW.

Approach & Entrance;
From the south - The high Sierra de Balaguer gives way to a flat sandy coast at Punta de Riu de Llastres. The houses, flats and breakwaters at Puerto de Cambrils are readily identified. The many high rise buildings of Salou can be seen from afar and the harbour will be seen in the close approach.
From the north - Cabou Salou is easily identified by its lighthouse and houses on it. Once rounded the buildings of Salou, 4 miles further on, will be seen. In the close approach the harbour will be seen.
To enter - Enter between the breakwater and make for the visitors berth immediately to starboard.

Berths - Secure to the visitors berth and report to the office.
