General - Puerto de Santa Margarita is a large development on the flood plain of the Rio Muga. It lies on the Costa Brava on the NE coast of Spain. The approach could be dangerous with strong winds from the E - S. Once inside there is complete protection. In the closer approach the buildings of the town and the breakwaters will be seen. From the north - Round Punta de la Creu with its off lying island. Follow the coast at 0.5 mile to Punta de la Bateria. Steer NW once round the point. In the closer approach the breakwater will be seen. To enter - The entrance is prone to silting and careful sounding is needed. Approach from a position 0.5 mile to the S. Leave the head outer breakwater to starboard at 20m and follow it round and into the harbour Berths - Secure to the visitors berth and await allocation of a berth Marina Contact ; Tel - Fax - Web VHF Ch - Maximum Length - 15m Water - On the pontoons.
