General - Puerto de las Fuentes is a pleasant medium sized marina on the Costa del Azahar on the E coast of Spain. Approach and entry is easy except in strong winds from the SSE

Position - 40º 15' N 0º 17' E

Approach & Entrance;
From the south - Cabo Oropesa can be identified by its white lighthouse and tower on top. The coast is low, flat and marshy and can be closed to 0.5 mile. There are two towers at Capicorp. The sail shaped building of the Torre de Control of Puerto de las Fuentes is easily recognized.
From the north - Peniscola, surmounted by the Castillo del Papa Luna, is unmistakable. The coast to the S is low rocky cliffs and small sandy beaches backed by the Sierra San Bennet a range of hills 2 miles inland. . The coast can be followed at 0.5 mile. Puerto de las Fuentes is at the S end of the Sierra San Bennet. The low breakwater and a number of apartment blocks will be seen in the closer approach.
To enter - Approach the head of the E breakwater and leave it to starboard. Enter the marina on a N course.

Berths - Secure to the quay by the Torre de Control and ask for a berth.

Shopping - Some shops close to Puerto de las Fuentes, better shopping in the village

Eating Out -

Local Area - Good sandy beach to the N of the harbour but it gets crowded during the summer months. Fine view from San Benito church 2.5 miles to the W.
