General - Siles Marina is a purpose built marina on the E coast of Spain. It is difficult to enter in strong winds and swell from the N - NE. The outer berths are subject to swell with winds from E - S

Position - 39º 4' N 0º 12' W

Charts - British Admiralty 1701 Spanish 4812, 481, 482, 835 French 4720

Approach & Entrance - From the S the harbour walls of Sagunto and the adjacent 1700m long jetty are easily recognized. From the N Puerto de Catellon, the petrochemical works and Puerto de Burriana can all be recognized. From either direction Cabo Canet light immediately behind Siles Marina is easily picked out. To enter approach on a NW course sounding carefully as the entrance is prone to silting. Round the head of the E breakwater leaving it to starboard at 15m and steer a N course before turning to port to enter the marina.

Shopping - Supermarket and shops close to Siles Marina. More shops in Sagunto 1 mile to the SW

Eating Out - Several restaurants, cafes and bars in the village close to close to Siles Marina. The Club Maritimo de Regates de Sagunto also has a restaurant

Local Area - Sandy beaches on either side of the harbour. The old town of Sagunto to the S is well worth visiting to see the old walls, castle and arena. It is famous for its 9 month defence against Hanibal and his Carthaginian armies.
