Marinas in Guadeloupe

The islands of Guadeloupe, an overseas département of France, lie in the Caribbean Sea off the northwest coast of South America at 16° 18' N 61° 32' W. The two principal islands are Basse-Terre and Grande-Terre. Other nearby island dependencies of Guadeloupe are Marie-Galante, Désirade Island, Iles de la Petite Terre and the Saintes Islands. Entry formalities must be completed at one of the official ports. These incude; Basse Terre, Deshaies, Marie Galante, Pointe-a-Pitre, Port Louis and Saint Francois. The Q flag should be flown and only the Skipper may land to complete formalities. All visitors require a passport. Nationals of the EU, Argentina, Brazil, Brunei, Canada, Chile, South Korea, New Zealand, Singapore, the United States and Venezuela do not need visas for up to a three-month stay. All other nationalities require visas, which should be obtained from a French embassy or consulate in advance. Make sure that the visa given is valid for Guadeloupe. Visitors from South America and some Caribbean islands may need a certificate of vaccinations against smallpox and yellow fever.
