The Cays are a wildlife reserve and all visitors are urged to preserve and protect this unique natural resource. No fishing, jet skis, or anchoring of dinghies allowed. Approach and Entrance - The best approach to this area is between Mayreau and Baleine rocks staying south of One Fathom Bank. There are black and white day markers that guide you through this path. Several anchorages are available just behind Horseshoe reef to the south of the cut. These spots lie between Baradel and Jamesby islands. Another spot is north of the cut and Baradel island. It is possible to anchor in the cut between Petit Rameau and Petit Bateau with bow and stem anchors, as the current is strong. Moorings - Some 30 moorings have been laid here, strategically placed to deter yachts from dropping their anchors too close to the turtle nesting area and the coral reefs. Use of these moorings is optional and the moorings are managed by the TCMP park rangers, who collect the fees.
