General - Duquesa Marina is located at Sabinillas on the Mediterrnean Coast in Andalucia, southern Spain. The facility offers berths, boatyard and a storage operation. One of my favourites, not too big and not to noisy. Duquesa Marina is surrounded by apartments, shops, restaurants and bars. The marina offers free medical care to it's users. The village of Sabinillas is 5 minutes walk to the north.
Position - 36º 21' N 005º 13' W
Charts - British Admiralty 3578, 773 Spanish 453
Approach & Entrance - From the north you will see the old watch tower at Punta de Salto de la Mora. Foul ground extends 200m of this point. From the south rocks extend 100m of the Punta de la Chullera. Castillo de la Duquesa is conspicuous just to the SSW of the harbour. To enter, approach the head of the eastern breakwater and then pass through the two breakwaters giving them a 25m berth. The control tower will be seen on the left. Secure here and ask for a berth.

Sightseeing - Gibraltar is less than 20 miles away. Catch the bus to La Linea and walk across the frontier, you will need your passport. Another bus will take you to the village of Casares which clings to the side of a mountain. Marbella, popular with the rich and famous is another bus journey away. Don't expect to see the famous on the bus though, they are the ones in the Ferraris. Hire a car and drive up to the picturesque town of Ronda.
