Digital photos are also very welcome. General - Puerto Gelves is a small marina on the River Guadalquivir. It lies 4 miles from the centre of Seville and is peaceful compared to the other two marinas that lie in the city centre. The facility offers berths, boatyard and a storage operation. Position - 37º 20.6' N 6º 02' W Tides; Reference port - Lisbon Mean time differences - (At Rio Guadalquivir bar) HW: 00 minutes ± 5; LW: +25 minutes ± 5 Heights in metres -
Charts, Pilots & Cruising Guides - See the following link for Andalucia Charts Approach & Entrance; River - Make for the fairway buoy, El Pero # 1 which marks the entry to the channel at the river mouth. Follow the buoyed channel to the port marker # 20. The river starts here and the buoys or marks start from # 1 again. It is now just a question of following the marked channel. The river forks after the starboard mark # 65. Take the left fork for Puerto Gelves marina which lies to port, a little further upstream after the power cables. To enter - Care is needed as the entrance is subject to cross currents. Berths & Moorings - Secure to the reception pontoon to immediately to starboard once entered. Maximum length - 16m Formalities - Take registration, insurance and passports to the marina office.
