It was designed with all skill levels of golfer in mind. Sightseeing - Ravine State Gardens is the most visited natural attraction in the town of Palatka. This beautiful garden was created in 1935 as a WPA project during the great depression. The revines in the park were created by small springs that flow into the Saint Johns River. In March of each year there are almost 100,000 azaleas in bloom in in the park and there are a number of hiking and walking trails through the beautiful foliage planted here. South Palatka Historic District is located south of reid street (US 17) in downtown Palatka. It is listed on the national register of historic places and for those interested in architecture and Forida history the South Palatka Historic District is worth a look. The Conlee Mural Committee supervises a county-wide mural project celebrating the area, with paintings by students and instructors from the Florida School for the Arts. Brochures for a walking tour of the murals, large and small, are available at the Putnam County Chamber of Commerce Visitor's Center and from local businesses. The paintings depict historic buildings and native flora and wildlife. Museums, Galleries and Cultural Attractions - Putnam Historic Museum is the only surviving building from Fort Shannon, a military outpost from the Seminole Indian Wars. Four small rooms loaded with various pieces of local memorabilia. Tilghman House, built circa 1884, is home to Palatka's Art League and shows the work of local artists and craftspeople on Fridays and Saturdays. Browning Rail Road Museum is located in the old Palatka depot in the north Palatka historic district. this museum has exhibits on early Florida rail road history and a model train.
