Marinas in Croatia

The major coastal regions of Croatia, from north to south are Istria, Kvarner, and Dalmatia which can be split into north, central and south. It's largest town is Pula near Istria's southernmost point; other important towns include Porec, Rovinj, Motovun, Buzet, Pazin and Zminj. The Kvarner region of Croatia sits between Istria to the northwest and Dalmatia to the south. The coastline has many historically important towns, including Bakar and Senj. Lovran is famous for its dense chestnut forests. Opatija is one of the most lovelyAdriatic resorts and is near Rijeka, the largest town in Kvarner. The bay of Kvarner is home to the islands of Krk, Cres, Rab and Maili Losinj. North Dalmatia begins at the island Pag and is characterized by hundreds of islands, including the Kornati Archipelago, a national park, consisting of nearly 150 islands, islets and reefs. To the north there are the islands of Silba, Olib and Ist, while closer to the mainland and near Zadar, the main centre of North Dalmatia, are the islands of Ugljan and Pasman. Sibenik, on the mainland, is the main center of the southern part of this area. Nearby you can visit the islands Zirje, Prvic, Krapaje and Zlarin as well as the waterfalls of the Krka River, which are a national park, near Skradin. The main centre of Central Dalmatia is Split and it is from here that many begin their exploration of this area. On the mainland Trogir and Makarska. Islands include; Brac, Hvar, Vis, Solta, Bisevo and Jabuka. Southern Dalmatia is home to Dubrovnik and Korcula. Dubrovnik is known as the "Pearl of the Adriatic" and is spectacularly beautiful city, rich in history. Korcula is surrounded by the sea on three sides by the sea. The major islands of this area are Korcula, Lastovo and Mljet as well as the small group of islands stretching from the peninsula of Peljesac to Dubrovnik.
