Brittany, also known as Bretagne, is the long arm of northwest France that extends into the Atlantic Ocean. It is bordered by the English Channel on the north and the Bay of Biscay on the south. Brittany is made up of the departments of Côtes d'Armor, Finistère, Ille-et-Vilaine and Morbihan. The coastline is a mix of jagged rocks and sandy beaches.
