Long Island Sound is an estuary of the Atlantic Ocean, between Connecticut to the north and Long Island, New York to the south. On its western end the sound is bounded by the Bronx and Westchester County, New York, and connects to the East River. On its eastern end it opens to Block Island Sound.
Major sailing centres include in New York; New York, Port Washington, Huntington, Greenport, Shelter Island, Sag Harbor, East Hampton and Montauk. And in Connecticut; Branford, Chester, Cos Cob, Essex, Guilford, Milford, Mystic, New London, Noank, Norwalk, Old Saybrook and Stamford.
Our aim is to build a comprehensive collection of reports on harbours, marinas, anchorages & moorings on Long Island Sound and beyond and we want your help to do it.
